Psalms, 113

1. Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.

2. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

3. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name [is] to be praised.

4. The LORD [is] high above all nations, [and] his glory above the heavens.

5. Who [is] like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,

6. Who humbleth [himself] to behold [the things that are] in heaven, and in the earth!

7. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, [and] lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;

8. That he may set [him] with princes, [even] with the princes of his people.

9. He maketh the barren woman to keep house, [and to be] a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 113 is a hymn of praise to God, who exalts his greatness and mercy toward his people. The verses selected below highlight the greatness of God and their care for the needy:

Isaiah 57:15: "For thus says the high and excellent, which dwells in eternity and whose name is holy: I dwell in the upper and holy place, but also dwell with the contrite and slaughtered with spirit, to vivify the spirit of the slaughtered and Vivify the heart of the contrite. Psalm 72:12-13: "For he shall free the needy when he claims and the distress who does not help him. He shall pity the poor and the needy and save the souls of the needy." This verse highlights God's goodness towards the needy and afflicted.

Psalm 103:13-14: "As a Father compasses himself of his children, so the Lord shakes himself from those who fear him. For He knows what we are made; remember that we are dust." This verse highlights God's mercy towards his people and his compassion as a father to his children.

Psalm 116:5-6: "The Lord is compassionate and just; yes, merciful is our God. The Lord keeps the simple; I was prostrate, and he saved me." This verse highlights God's mercy and righteousness to his people, and his care for the simple and needy.

Psalm 145:8-9: "Compassion and piety is the Lord, late in angry and great in love. The Lord is good to all; His compassion reaches all his creatures." This verse highlights God's compassion and love towards all his creatures, and his goodness to all.
