Psalms, 28

1. A psalm for David, at the finishing of the tabernacle. Bring to the Lord, O ye children of God: bring to the Lord the offspring of rams.

2. Bring to the Lord glory and honour: bring to the Lord glory to his name: adore ye the Lord in his holy court.

3. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of majesty hath thundered, The Lord is upon many waters.

4. The voice of the Lord is in power; the voice of the Lord in magnificence.

5. The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars: yea, the Lord shall break the cedars of Libanus.

6. And shall reduce them to pieces, as a calf of Libanus, and as the beloved son of unicorns.

7. The voice of the Lord divideth the flame of fire:

8. The voice of the Lord shaketh the desert: and the Lord shall shake the desert of Cades.

9. The voice of the Lord prepareth the stags: and he will discover the thick woods: and in his temple all shall speak his glory.

10. The Lord maketh the hood to dwell: and the Lord shall sit king for ever. The Lord will give strength to his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Psalm 28 is a prayer that cries for divine protection before enemies and asks for God's righteousness. The psalmist expresses his confidence in God and his rejection to those who practice evil. Below are five verses related to the themes of Psalm 28:

Psalm 7:9: "End of the wickedness of the wicked and enable the righteous, O righteous God, to probe hearts and minds!" The psalmist makes it clear that God is a righteous God and that he enables the righteous as he punishes the wicked.

Psalm 18:2: "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my liberator; my God is my rock, in whom I refuge. He is my shield and the power that saves me, my tower . " The psalmist emphasizes God's protection and his security in God.

Psalm 55:22: "Deliver His concerns to the Lord, and He shall sustain him; he will never allow the righteous to fall." The psalmist advises to trust God, giving him concerns and he will sustain and protect.

Psalm 94:14: "For the Lord will not abandon His people; He will never desert His inheritance." The psalmist believes that God does not abandon his people and will not desert his inheritance.

Psalm 140:8: "Lord, do not grant the wicked their desires; do not allow their plans to materialize, for they are arrogant." The psalmist rejects those who practice evil and asks God not to allow his plans to materialize.
