Psalms, 93

1. The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, [wherewith] he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

2. Thy throne [is] established of old: thou [art] from everlasting.

3. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

4. The LORD on high [is] mightier than the noise of many waters, [yea, than] the mighty waves of the sea.

5. Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.

Verse im Zusammenhang mit Psalms, 93:

Psalm 93 is a hymn that exalts the sovereignty and majesty of the Lord, which is described as the one who reigns above all things and keeps the world firmly established. The verses selected below highlight God's greatness and its authority over all creation.

Psalm 24:1-2: "From the Lord is the earth, and all that exists in it, the world and those who live in it; for he founded it over the seas, and established it on the waters." This verse speaks of God's authority and sovereignty about all creation, including earth and all its inhabitants.

Psalm 47:7-8: "For God is the king of all the earth; sing praises with harmonious song. God reigns over the nations; God is sitting in His holy throne." This verse highlights God's sovereignty over all the nations of the earth.

Psalm 96:10: "Say among the nations: The Lord reigns! His are the heavens, and the earth his dominion." This verse emphasizes that the Lord is the supreme ruler of the whole universe, including heaven and earth.

Isaiah 6:1: "In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a tall and exalted throne, and the flap of his dress filled the temple." This verse describes a vision of Isaiah in which he sees the Lord sitting on a throne, which is an image similar to the psalmist's description in Psalm 93.

Revelation 19:6: "Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and strong thunder that cried out: Hallelujah! For the Lord reigns our God, the Almighty." This verse portrays a scene in heaven in which a crowd celebrates God's sovereignty and the fact that he reigns forever.
